[ Before the match earlier, Eiji wasn't sure he would have willingly admitted that he cared what Ankh thought. Now that he had won, though, he was kind of excited to be able to tell him that he'd actually done it. He had an unfair advantage over Philip and he still felt bad about it, but he knew Shotaro would take care of him. Eiji had promised himself he was going to take better care of his friends, too, and he was glad he could fulfill that promise by helping Ankh. ]

Ankh? Are you still awake?

[ He peeked in the door. ]

[All you get is a groan. He's having a bad pain moment. He's kind of a quivering lump under the sheets.]

Ankh?

[ He repeated his name, albeit a bit lower. ]

I brought you candy and some popsicles.

[Okay that brings him out of his nest. He uncovers his face and holds out a hand.]

[ He probably wanted the popsicle first, but the candy was more important so Eiji dropped it in his hand. ]

You'll probably feel better once you take this. You should have told me you needed one sooner.

[Eiji gets a glare but he pops the candy. He wasn't interested in dying like a moron. But he still doesn't say anything for himself. He just glares at some random point on the wall past Eiji.]

[ Eiji looked to the ground briefly, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. He unwrapped one of the popsicles and hand held it out. ]

I won, by the way.

[After sucking on one for a bit, his voice is a bit stronger. Popsicles help the candy go down easier.] Congratulations. [And it's actually rather sincere.]

Eh? Do you really mean that?

[Just a glare from over the popsicle. The 'of course, idiot' is all over his face.]

Thanks, then. [ It was kind of funny how hard it was for Ankh to admit he'd said something nice. ]

Don't go giving away your winnings. They're for us to use. [MOVING AWAY FROM THAT SUBECT]

Oh, um, speaking of that...

[ He pulled a pouch from his pocket and held it out to Ankh. ]

Here. You used one already but there's two more in here for when you need them.

[He took them, glaring at him. But he stuffed them under his pillow for now.] I'm going to take the rest of those for safe keeping.

Under your pillow isn't exactly the safest spot... isn't that where people always look first?

I'm laying on it. No one's getting it.

What about when you're not laying on it?

Then I'll put it somewhere else! You know, when I can actually stand up without being in a bunch of pain. [And he flinches. Getting angry at him hurts more than was fair.]

[ He was quiet for a moment. ]

Hina-chan wanted me to tell you she's rooting for you to get better.

[He doesn't look like he knows what to say to that. Still working on that popsicle though.]

She really misses you, you know...

[ Things were actually kind of awkward when they weren't fighting. ]

Do you expect me to see her like this?! [Sure he was a little vain, but there's a bad hair day and then there's nightmare-inducing.]
